BIDDING PRAYERS
PRIEST
Jesus Christ came on earth to teach us the true value of human life. Let us ask the Lord for his grace so that our lives may be lived for love of him.
READER
Let us pray for the Church and the spread of the Gospel: may all Christians be sensitive to the goodness of people round them. May they see in this, a sign of God’s power at work within them. Lord hear us.
We pray for all members of Trade Union movements: may their efforts on behalf of their members to achieve greater equality and a just wage be motivated by their awareness of each individual’s dignity and the interests of the nation as a whole. Lord hear us.
May those who are unjustly treated by their employers be encouraged to stand together to speak out against injustice. May we help them by our prayers and positive support. Lord hear us.
Let us pray for an ever-greater co-operation between different Christian communities: as we look to the future, may we seek the Lord’s divine guidance and direction in all our deliberations, Lord hear us.
We pray with Mary, who helped her cousin Elizabeth in her need, as we say together: Hail Mary … etc.
We pray in silence for a few moments for our own intentions, confident that God hears and answers us.
PRIEST
God our Father, we make our prayers to you, trusting not in our own goodness, but in your love and mercy. We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
