BIDDING PRAYERS
PRIEST
Jesus tells us today to “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.” Let us turn to God our Father and pray for the needs of our world, families and Parish community.
READER
Let us pray for our Holy Father, Pope Francis, as he continues his stay in hospital. We pray that he may be given strength and perseverance at this time. Lord hear us.
We pray for Bishop Lazarus and the people in the Diocese of Morogoro, Tanzania, and we give thanks to God for his visit this weekend. Lord hear us.
For those who persecute others, that God’s Spirit of peace may turn their hearts from ways of violence to ways of reconciliation. Lord hear us.
For our own parish community, that we will always be ready to extend a warm welcome to the visitor and stranger in our midst. Lord hear us.
For the deacons of our parish, Kingsley and Lawrence, our diocese and around the world, that they may be instruments of Christ’s loving service to our world. Lord hear us.
We pray with Mary, full of compassion and love, as we say: Hail Mary…etc.
We pray in silence for our own intentions to God our loving Father.
PRIEST
Open our hearts, O Lord, to accept the graces that your love is only too willing to give us. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.
