Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)

BIDDING PRAYERS

PRIEST

Jesus Christ will come at the end of time in power and glory. We ask the Lord for all the graces which will help us prepare for his second coming.

READER

Let us pray for the Church: may she always proclaim the triumphant victory of her Lord over death by the humble following of her Saviour, in which her care for the oppressed is a sign of her love for the Lord. Lord hear us.

For all the peoples of the world: may Christians everywhere, by their prayers and sacrifices, be mindful that Christ wishes everyone to be saved and gathered into his Kingdom. Lord hear us.

We pray for the industries of our country: may those who work in them rejoice in the knowledge that they are working together with God in sharing his ability to create. Lord hear us.

Let us pray for those who suffer poverty and deprivation: may we find ways of supporting those in need and sharing God’s good gifts. Lord hear us.

We pray with Mary, Mother of Jesus, as we say: Hail Mary … etc.

In silence, we make our own petitions to the Lord, who has chosen us as his own.

PRIEST

Heavenly Father, grant forgiveness to all your people. Strengthen us in your grace and make us aware of the needs of those around us. Help us to meet those needs. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
