BIDDING PRAYERS
PRIEST
Jesus Christ calls us as Christians to love God and our neighbour as ourselves. Let us pray to him for the grace to live out this commandment in our Church and world.
READER
Let us pray for the Church: may she proclaim the kingdom of God to a sophisticated and doubting world by the simplicity of her message of love: (pause) …. Lord hear us.
We pray for peace in the world: may all people, whatever their creed or social position, learn to live in peace and harmony with one another and so contribute to the peace of the world: (pause) … Lord hear us.
Let us remember those who experience loneliness: may they find, in the warmth of Christian companionship, signs of God’s abiding love and find the strength to be open to others: (pause) … Lord hear us.
For gratitude for families and friends: may we always bless the Lord for our families and friends and all who have taught us to care for other people. (pause) … Lord hear us.
We pray with Mary who truly loved God and her neighbour as we say together: Hail Mary … etc.
We make our own personal prayers in silence trusting in God’s eagerness to hear and answer us.
PRIEST
God our Father, we make our prayers in faith knowing that you will hear and answer them out of love for us. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
