Trinity Sunday

BIDDING PRAYERS

PRIEST

In the name of Jesus Christ who redeemed us, and the Holy Spirit who sanctifies us, we make our prayers to God our Father.

READER

We pray for the Church: may she continue to proclaim the eternal truths of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. May she demonstrate to the world her mission of love entrusted to her by the power of the Holy Spirit: (pause) … Lord hear us.

Let us pray for peace and unity in the world: may all people learn to live in peace and harmony by taking Christ as their example and inspiration so that the God of peace will be with them: (pause) … Lord hear us.

For those suffering divisions within the family, especially the breakdown of their married lives: May they try, through God’s grace, to pick up the threads of  their lives once again: (pause) … Lord hear us.

We pray for a renewal of our baptismal commitment: may we who are baptised in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit renew within ourselves our commitment to Christ an so bring down a blessing on ourselves, our families and our communities: (pause) … Lord hear us.

We pray with Mary who was filled with God’s love, as we say together:   Hail Mary … etc.

We pray in silence for our own intentions to God our Father.

PRIEST

God our Father, hear the prayers we offer you, and what is lacking in our faith, make up in your loving Spirit. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
