God our Father has given us his only Son to strengthen and guide us on our spiritual journey. With confidence in his generosity, we make our prayers to him.
We pray for the Church: may all see Holy Communion as a special means by which Christ our Saviour makes personal contact with individuals and the community, to make them one with him and with each other: (pause) … Lord hear us.
Let us pray for the governments of our world: may they always show compassion for underprivileged nations. May they seek, not only to alleviate famine, but to give sufficient aid so that struggling peoples may be able to produce for themselves, enough food for human existence and growth: (pause) … Lord hear us.
For those caught up in the pursuit of wealth: may they come to understand that human beings do not live on bread alone but on God’s word, revealed in the life of Jesus Christ: (pause) … Lord hear us.
We pray for all those who fail to appreciate the true value of the Eucharist: may they put aside any indifference and come to him, who alone is our food and our life: (pause) … Lord hear us.
We make our prayers with Mary, who was at one with her Son, as we say: Hail Mary …etc.
In silence, we pray for our own personal intentions.
God our Father, your Son feeds us with his Body and Blood. Increase our faith by answering our prayers. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
