BIDDING PRAYERS
PRIEST
We have been blessed with the gift of faith by which we trust God above all else. Let us pray to him in the confident knowledge that he will hear and answer our prayers.
READER
- We pray for the Church: may the faith of her members continually grow in strength and shine forth to the world as the jewel of rare price: (pause) … Lord hear us
- We pray for Christian members of government: may their faith grow like the mustard seed and reach out into every aspect of their lives. May they seek God’s will in all things: (pause) … Lord hear us.
- We pray for those whose faith has grown cold: may they be open to the Holy Spirit, who will fan into a flame the gift of their faith. May he renew in them their Christian commitment: (pause) … Lord hear us.
- We pray for an increase of faith in the community: may we look upon our work and prayer as our service of the Lord who has blessed us with Christian faith: (pause) … Lord hear us.
- We pray with Mary, Mother of the Lord, as we say together: Hail Mary …
- In silence, we pray to God, our loving Father.
PRIEST
God our Father, in faith we make our prayer to you and, by the same faith, we trust that you will answer them. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
