Trinity Sunday (B)

BIDDING PRAYERS

PRIEST

Let us pray with faith and confidence to God our Father since, through his Son and Holy Spirit, we are his adopted children and he will answer our prayers.

READER

Let us pray for the Church and her leaders: that they may be filled with the Holy Spirit and share with our Lord in his sufferings so as to share in his glory:  (pause)  …  Lord hear us.

May the leaders of government always remember that all authority in heaven and on earth is given to Christ, God’s only Son, and may their laws reflect his mission of love and salvation:  (pause)  …  Lord hear us.

May there be a renewal of Christian mission in the world and may Christians everywhere heed Christ’s call to make disciples of all the nations. May they continue to support missionaries in far-off lands through their prayers and sacrifices:  (pause)  …  Lord hear us.

We pray for baptised people everywhere: may they be moved by the Spirit to call God, “Father”, and so be released from any fears which hold them back from a total commitment to Christ:  (pause)  …  Lord hear us.

We pray with Mary, who fulfilled the will of the Lord to perfection, as we pray together: Hail Mary … etc.

Moved by the Holy Spirit, we make our petitions in silence to God our Father.

PRIEST

God our Father, we come before you in prayer, not trusting in our own good deeds, but in the power of your Spirit, which makes us your children. We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
