God has called us in Jesus Christ to be the light of the world. We make our prayers to him, confident that he will give us all the graces necessary to fulfil our Christian mission.
We pray for all Christians: may the light of their faith dispel the darkness of doubt around them. May the warmth of their Christian love overcome the world’s hostility and apathy to the saving gospel of Christ: (pause) … Lord hear us
May the leaders of society fulfil God’s will in the service of the public. May their office become a visible expression of their Christian faith: (pause) … Lord hear us
Let us remember all missionaries who work in difficult circumstances: may they be renewed in mind and heart and find support in our generosity so that they may continue to preach the Gospel in a spirit of joy: (pause) … Lord hear us
For a greater awareness of the Holy Spirit: may all Christians come alive to the workings of the Holy Spirit. May they find release from the fears which hinder them from living a fully Christian life: (pause) … Lord hear us.
We pray with Mary, Mother of the Messiah, as we say: Hail Mary … etc.
We make our own petitions in silence under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
God our Father, you have called us to be your light in the world. May we be your faithful witnesses through the light of your love shining within us. We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
