Our dear friend and parish priest Father George has died.
Father George Funeral Details
The funeral arrangements for Father George in the coming week are as follows:
Wednesday 9th October: Coffin Reception followed by Mass at Holy Cross, Wotton-Under-Edge at 7.00pm.
Could those attending please arrange to be seated in the Church by 6.45pm (latest), there will be an overspill area upstairs in the meeting room where the Memorial Mass can be heard.
After this mass, Father George will be taken to Christ The King, Thornbury, where he will repose overnight.
Thursday 10th October: Requiem Mass at 11.00am in Christ The King Thornbury.
Could those attending please arrange to be seated in the Church by 10.45am (latest), there will be an overspill area in the Parish Hall where the Requiem Mass will be live streamed.
Please note that parking in the Church car park will be restricted to Fr George’s immediate family and visiting Clergy; all others attending will need to make alternative parking arrangements. Please remember that there are restrictions on parking in Castle Street between 10.00 – 11.00am. (See below for a map showing carparks in Thornbury)
All Parishioners and Friends of Father George are warmly invited to either or both of the Masses.
After the Requiem Mass, there will be a service of Christian burial at the Salvatorian plot in Thornbury Cemetery.
The Burial service will be for close family and the Salvatorians only please.
There will be light refreshments in Christ The King Parish Hall after the Requiem and Internment.
Father George’s immediate family requested that there would be no formal Dress Code, please dress as you feel fit.
